It depends on the number of papers they have to fill out for your taxes. I know, I cant' believe that either. So, the more credits, dependents, and items (i.e. house, IRA) you have, the more it can cost. Usually, mine has always been around $150-$200.

I have never used them. I suggest that you just call them. I suspect there are different fees, depending upon how complicated or long your tax return will be. Be sure to ask if the fee goes up closer to the April 15 deadline--which I heard is extended this year to April 17.
By the way, you posted this question, so you obviously have some computer skills. Why don't you try TurboTax? I have used it for several years and find it pretty easy to install and use. It is very thorough, so you have to be patient and answer No or N/A to a lot of questions that may not apply to your situation. The cost of buying the software is deductible near the end of your tax form--just like the fee at H&R Block is.

I would have to agree with Patrick here...CPA's charge about the same or even less than H&R Block. I was charged over 300 dollars by H & R block and have seen some CPA's charge way way less and they know what they are doing

That depends upon the complexity of your return and how long it takes to prepare it.

Don't waste you money by going to those undereducated morons. Consult a PROFESSIONAL. CPAs are everywhere and they do a much more thorough job.
