To me, air is better suited to the wand, and it drives me crazy that most tarot decks have it reversed. I head that it was originally the athame, and then one of the original tarot artists switched them so as not to give away too much information from the Golden Dawn. Is this a true story?

Yes, that kind of frustrates me as well. I see wands as being more air-like -- and the slimmer, the airier. Blades "flash" like fire, and their cuts can "burn." Oh, and blades were forged in flame!

I couldn't tell you if the Order of the Golden Dawn story is true, sorry.

Sorry, I disagree. I associate the element of air with athames. Air is the element of thinking and intellect, and the ability to make distinctions (or "cut" things - hence the blade of the athame.)

Luckily, in paganism there's no hard and fast rules and you're allowed to believe what you want.

I don't use wands or tarot cards myself; but I believe that the element of air is associated with wands by most.

'Bender' thinks youre a wiccan! I LOVE it.

Air is better suited to breathing. Let's leave the pseudo-magic crap to the credulous.
