I'm sure there are still a lot of people both male and female who are virgins when they get married. Before the sexual revolution of the 60's being a virgin was a sign of purity. Today many people see it as a sign of inexperience. In my opinion there are so many other aspects of a relationship that are more important than a persons sexual innocence. The question in your mind should be, if you found your soul-mate, someone who you really connected with on every level, would you reject that person as a marriage partner if they were not a virgin? It becomes a question of importance that only you can answer.

The thing is... people weren't EVER virgins when they got married. That's a myth. I just read an article about it, and people's sex lives are virtually unchanged from the 1950s. People had premartial sex then (the MAJORITY of people) and they still do today. Only difference is today they don't have to lie about it or keep it a secret. And I'm all for living your life how you want to live it regardless of other people's morals.
See: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16287113/
Here's a quote from the article: NEW YORK - More than nine out of 10 Americans, men and women alike, have had premarital sex, according to a new study. The high rates extend even to women born in the 1940s, challenging perceptions that people were more chaste in the past.

It's the 21st century. The old ways, the ways of religion is all but gone but the strong belief is still there for a lot of us. I would be lying if I told you that I haven't slept with a virgin (actually 3) but I respect a woman who can remain a virgin until after they are married.
By the same token, it used to be a major sin to get a divorce but that's long gone and the lawyers are always making it easier and easier. As the time moves forward, so does our old fashioned beliefs.

I think it's important to have sex before marriage. Get rid of all those crazy years before finding the one person who you want to spend the rest of your life with. "You could say try before you buy," or I think of it as fulfilling my wildest dreams while I'm young and free and preparing myself to be faithful to the one I love. If you marry when you are a virgin, won't you wonder what it's like to have sex with other guys? Would that increase the chance of an affair if things get rocky? Virginity is definitely overrated. Especially in the US.

Because we're living 2 generations removed from the "Sexual Revolution", and the seeds of that path have been planted into our psyche so deeply that nobody is willing to discuss openly the heartache that premarital sex can create. We're all being told we're nothing more than animals and "if it feels good, do it". Less people are virgins when they get married because our culture has seared our collective concience.

To be honest, waiting to lose your virginity until you get married could be a mistake. Everybody likes something different in the bedroom department & until you've tried it you wont know what you like & dislike. Can you imagine waiting & then having sex be a huge let down, when it should be something you & your partner enjoy.

The media plays up sex a lot, especially in teen movies and books. The topic always comes up. Its more talked about, and there are so many ways to protect yourself now that it isn't as big of a deal anymore.

can you imagine getting married then realising your partner is useless in the bed room?
gutted or what.
people have sex befor marriage because it is socially acceptable to do so.
also sex is supposed to be fun, why be stuck with crap sex fever?
how many relationships break up over bad sex? it happens allot lots of affairs and things so why not have the chance to marry someone you are both emotionally and physically equal to?
