Yes, you get better traction that way, it also spreads out your center of gravity

Yes, If you go to a wide tire and rims flattens out the tread thus better traction. If you notice any large 2 1/2 truck / 11/2 or (SUV's what a piece of crap) with large block treaded tires you will notice outside blocks barely touch the road. Follow these tires in the highway you'll the color of the tread is different across the tire. The tread is blacker in the center than the shoulders. Good Luck shopping

oh ya definitely. it gives your truck a bigger foot pattern which means more traction. also if you live somewhere were bead locker rims are legal on the street i would get those so you can deflate your tires down too because that will give you almost double the foot pattern on top of what you already got. but the only thing with that is that you need a compressor handy so you can fill up your tires before you get back on the street or even if its a trailer rig only you still have to inflate the tires so it doesnt mess them up.

That's a tricky question.
Are you asking if you need a rim that's wider than the tire?
If so. Then the answer is no.
A rock could easily knock the tire bead loose from the wheel.

You want fat tires, and smaller rims. The tire protects the rim from damage.
