More important than size is their lung development. You're 36 weeks already, so your twins are pretty much "cooked" by now. Every extra day is icing on the cake, but I think you're past the critical stage. My twins were born 37 weeks, 3 days, and they didn't need NICU time.

My daughter had her twins at 36 weeks, girl was 3lb 1oz,boy was 4lb 3oz,they were fine both breathed straight away no trouble and stayed in special care until they were big enough to go home, they didnt need to go in an incubator at all.
Good luck, twins are loads of fun, they are so funny now they are 19 months old

Don't worry if they do have to go in an incubator, it's not the end of the word, my daughter was born at 31 weeks (2lb 4oz) She was in special care for 8 weeks, they do an excellent job in the hospital, and your babies will be fine!
My daughter's 3 now, a proper little madam (I wouldn't have it any other way!)
Goo luck with your pregnancy, and try not to worry!

One of my sisters had twins 5 months ago at 36 weeks, one had to spend a week in the NICU, one didn't.
One of my other sisters had twins 2 1/2 months ago at 36 1/2 weeks and neither had to go to NICU.
And I had a baby 9 weeks ago at 38 1/2 weeks, no probs, 2006 was a big baby year for our family!!!

Incubators aren't necessarily for size, they're more for babies born too early to breathe on their own and keep themselves warm. My neice was born on her due date at only 4 lb, 15 oz and wasn't in an incubator.

incubators ate not just for small babies, they can be for babies who are either having difficulty regulating their temperature and also for breathing problems etc, try not to worry to much if there is cause for concern then your doctor will keep you fully informed, if you babies do need special care they will be in good hands as the staff in special care units are very well trained. good luck

If your babies are born healthy and they feed well when they are born then wont need medical assistance or incubators. I work on a Neonatal Unit and we send babies as little as 4lb home. Congratulations x

depends on their weight and whether or not they need help with their breathing etc.Good luck.36 weeks is a good term to have gone already. I was told my daughter would be small - 7lb 3oz, so they got that wrong
