Because if they are not, the woman will either A: Leave them for being a wimp, or B: make their life hell. Most often it is A. When a man is too nice and too submissive, they are almost always left for a jerk. While women may want to make a man submissive, they don't really want one. When they accomplish the feat, they are bored and move on. Look at every chick flick, the guy is some bad dude that does not like the woman, then he becomes in love and all nice.

This is not always true, but in my experience, it is mostly true. So a man has to be a man, and remain in control, or the woman will tire of them

I suspect its an upbringing thing.. guys are trained that they are supposed to be in control of a relationship basicaly

Not all guys feel this way.. some are comfortable with the woman being in control.. others are fine with an equitable distribution of control...

Relationships ought to be a mutual building thing, no one should be "in control". If this is what's starting to happen, then the relationship is in trouble, and probably should be ended.

guys think that they have to be in control because they are the one who usually askes you out and they want the atention. When you get a guy like that know one wants to be arounf them and they just always disagree with you. They have to be in control because that makes them feel special and they dont get sypathy from their friends like us girls do.

You're dating the wrong kind of guy, to put it bluntly. My boyfriend and I are EQUALS in the relationship; we make decisions together and we each occasionally do things with the other one that we're not too fond of. If your boyfriend isn't willing to compromise or ever do anything for you, just get out of it now. My ex was like that; I had to practically beat him to death to go to prom (but he refused to ok me going with one of my other friends) and once I got him there, he complained nonstop, kept going outside every 5 minutes, and basically ruined my prom for me. You and me and EVERY woman deserves better than that!

Because if they dont have control they have to do things the girly way. "I want a dress" "lets go see that new chick flick." these are curses to guys' ears. except for mine. I dont take control, i handle it democratically. "lets go see that new chick flick." "only if we go and see my movie next week" "fine"

Its instinctive. they are protective and they think they have to be in complete control in order to do that. It can get very annoying, but sometimes they can't help it.

Not all guys do feel that way and, if you are wise, you'll find a guy who doesn't feel that way if you are in it for the long haul.
