I've asked this question before... is the display of religious ignorance, bigotry, intolerance, and arrogance an accurate representation of religious belief in the US?

I've been looking around at answers to questions lately, and there seem to be a lot of anti-gay, anti-atheist, and anti-evolution Christians roaming around these parts. The complete lack of rational, humane people on this site pretty much frightens me.

Christians talk about this country being on a moral decline because of gays being accepted into society.
I honestly think it's the other way around. This country is on a moral decline because Christians are getting more publicity.

My faith in humanity wanes.

What do you think?

Christianity is getting more publicity because they have learned how to use the media very well, and because their hands are down the pants of our most powerful politicians.

I do not believe this country is on a "moral decline" at all. Every generation reaches a certain age, looks around, sees natural changes in morality, and decides that the country is falling apart.

You certainly can't take what you see here as any kind of barometer for reality, either. People say things online that they only half believe; they lie outright; they say things they'd never put into action in the real world.

Keep the faith.

Yep - it is not the Christian religion but the so called Christians.

I am sure there are many deeply good Christians following the loving, inclusive and forgiving religious beliefs that were once followed.

Sadly there are now some extremely zealous Christians following their own hate filled fantasies.

Christ did not hate. He preferred sinners to Christians and always sought to forgive and be inclusive. The modern Christian is nothing to do with that and the good Christians should be standing up to repudiate the hatred and filth being spewed by them.

At the end of the day, if God exists, then these so called Christians will all get that sinking feeling as they descend into the fires of hell for their heresy.

I think you see only what you want to see. There are plenty of anti-Christians trolling around spewing hate as well.

And saying: "I honestly think it's the other way around. This country is on a moral decline because Christians are getting more publicity." as well as, "The complete lack of rational, humane people on this site..." is a "display of religious ignorance, bigotry, intolerance, and arrogance" of its own, you know.

I don't blame you for being mad. The fact that we Christians claim to be right makes other beliefs wrong. Our God said His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. So be mad but don't lose your cool, I'll be praying for you.

You, Sir, would be correct! It has become almost trendy to become a christian bigot. I find it very scary.

I also find that religion is packaging and marketing itself more slickly than ever. They actively market to kids like cigarette companies used to. And I find them equally disgusting.
