Her weight sounds pretty normal--you're supposed to weigh 100 pounds if you're 5'0", and you should add about 5 pounds to every successive 1" more than 5'0". So your friend shouldn't be more than 145 or she could be overweight. She's okay, it sounds like. But if she wants to get rid of the marks, there's always formulated shea cocoa butter at drug stores like Rite-Aid. They help take away scarring and are supposed to help get rid of stretch marks.

Hope this helped.

She is young enough that this can be reversed. She will need to use more than a cream though. Any type of cream will help her. She needs to get moisture into those fat pockets. I know sounds gross, but that's what they truly are. She probably notices them more when she sits down alond her thigh if she crosses her legs, and just wen she gawks in the mirror. Remind her not everyone is staring at her when she's at the gym, or swimming in a pool. Help her get into a positve mindset to exercise. The 2 of you could join a local gym or just walk after school. Stairs will be great exercise for her and they are free. If you do have access to one use an eliptical machine. Set it on gluteal#2 and at least a 4 for the intensity. She only needs to do this 3 x a week for 30 mins. intervals. Within 3 months she will have the booty she wants. I promise. It should be good insentive for her since Summer is coming! Good luck. I think it's great you care about your friend so much. Oh and for the moisturizer, I would use cocoa butter. It smoothes skin and stops stretch marks. Her skin is going to stretch from losing weight, and this will keep her skin looking and feeling firmer as she loses.

stretch marks may sometimes appear because of dehydrated skin that's why it's not as elastic as it should be.

so one solution is to moisturize it...Try using Palmer's Cocoa Butter lotion or the Cocoa Butter Tummy Lotion for Stretch Marks...

use any body butter or lotion that has Cocoa Butter & Vitamin E. both are very good for skin regeneration.

palmer's got lotsa products for scars and stretch marks...
i used palmer's for my scar it workd! im sure their stretchmarks line works too... :)

If it would make her feel any better,I have NO butt yet I still have a few light stretch marks. Most girls do have stretch marks.I highly doubt it's her weight by the way.I'm 5'3" and weigh about 120.It's natural to have them though, even models do.They just have makeup artists and people who fix everything on computers.

I remember when I started going through puberty and I got those... I know they suck, but she can take comfort in the fact that a lot of women have them. As you get older and your body stops changing so much they start to fade.

theres nothing that will get rid of them. there are creams that will fade the color but thats it, they are there forever unfortunetly. she shouldnt feel bad almost all girls have them, its from growing too fast, gaining or losing too much weight, puberty sucks. there are extreme measures like lasers that might work but even they arent guaranteed. movie stars have them too...tell her to use self tanning lotions that will mask it a bit, and there are cover ups for your body that will mask them too
