hi all,

well im working down in newcastle next week and dare say ill get bored n fancy a tiple - who's gonna be the lucky one to buy me a pint? ???
ohhh.....can you still smoke in the pubs down there?

I assume when you say "down in Newcastle" you mean you are coming from Scotland and not just a southener who thinks everywhere is "down" from there.

You can still smoke in the vast majority of bars. Try THE GATE as there are many bars under one roof and if you have three lots of ID you could join the casino upstairs. If you are older the haymarket area would be better - Sgt Peppers plays a lot of 60's and 70s music.

Top end of town will be chocka up to time of kick off. Newcastle vs Villa. (another three points for the toon!!!)

Have a good night and I hope you get your free pint. (try happy hour where you could be lucky and get two for the price of one) that's your best chance

You can still smoke here for the time being anyway.

Entertainment wise there are more than enough pubs going in Newcastle but it depends where abouts in town you are staying!

Avoid the Bigg Market unless you want to party with 12yr olds or 60 yr olds.

loads to do and see just work might get in the way try Osbourne rd first then move on to the gate or quayside missing out the bigg market unless u r a 13 year chav or 70 year old perv unless its a match day then go to city vaults top totte barmaids us Geordie's love u sweaty socks after all u r just Geordie's with your brains kicked out

All depends on you age group.There are loads of good pubs and restaurants,but if you are there on wed. get a ticket for the newcastlle v Villa game,you will get sport.comedy.food and drink rolled into one.

theres smoking all over, the quayside has some nice places to drink, it depends where you are staying as its a big place,
