i dont know, but i think about each 5 weeks take the braids out and wash your hair and it will be longer, because i did that and my hair got longer.
i just took my braids out today, and washed my hair, and i saw it grew a couple inches.

Try keeping them in for a month to two months. Make sure that you keep your hair and scalp clean, this is very important! Yes, having braids does make your hair grow, but it won't help it you keep your hair healthy! Before getting the braids, get a trim. Also, while the braids are in, keep your scalp oiled and your hair as well. Once you take them out you should see growth and will probably see growth while they are still in.

I actually think this is a myth. Depending on your hair type and the tightness of the braid, braiding is actually very taxing for your hair. When braids are too tight they cause folicles to weaken which leads to breakage. This is typically used for woman with thick coarse hair. Namely black woman. I dont know if you are black. But here is a web site with some info on braids and the damage they can do.

no longer than 2 months.anything longer is gross and may result in matting o your hair at the scalp plus you may start to get a lot of build up

I thought that your hair grew the same no matter what you did to it! But I suggest two week periods. Then a two day break to let your hair airout. I think your two week periods should last about two to three months!

When the braids get loose and floppy and off the scalp, you'll want to redo them.

your hair is growing everyday! braids (i think your talking about cornrows) make your roots stronger, and may make your hair grow longer (because they are so tight) but not much more than it normally would
