Does Anyone Know About Volunteering Abroad Organizations?

I am planning on volunteering abroad in Zambia or Tanzania next winter, and I have been researching different organizations, but they all are basically the same. Has anyone ever done this before? Are there any organizations you know of that you would recomend or not recomend? Any information you know of would be helpful. Thanks

I've heard the "Without Borders" groups are good,
Doctors without, teachers without , engineers without . . .
You should be able to google them from the web search
