I just got new shelves in my room and I don't really know what to put on them, I know like books and whatnot but other things?...

Photos! They are always great, something from a past trip or get together. Lovely trinkets that people have given you that you have no where else to put. You can always change it around. a few candles in holders that coordinate with your decor are always nice and they smell good too!
But remember to put out stuff that is easy to dust and doesn't have a cluttered look.

Family pictures in small frames, pretty plates in plate stands, candles, little pitchers with silk flowers, collections of things like figurines, shells, or rocks, books stacked on their sides, books standing side by side, decorative clocks, vases, etc. Have fun.

Yes, Screws into stone brick or plaster need raw plugs, you will need to drill a hole to the right size using a masonary drill, the raw plugs should have the size of drill bit required. If you have plaster board walls you will need special plaster board raw plugs, If in doubt ask at the shop.

If you have any collections, like shot glasses or snow globes, etc you could do that. I like to put pictures up with my books. Hope this helps you out

put some things that show ur personality. lyke if u lyke make-up && stuff...put some on there...&& lyke if u collect something..organize ur collection and put it on the shelves.u can also use it to hold ur purse..bookbag and stuff lyke that..also u can buy a x-small beta aquarium that has a divider that holds 2 betas..put that on the shelf..thats what i did.[[ wal*mart ]]
