I wash my hands so frequently that they are always dry and cracking. I have tried several different lotions from the store and nothing seems to work. What else can I try?

Cooking oil. I am NOT kidding. Lotions don't put back natural moisture in skin, only relieve itching and dry skin, momentarily. Put a little cooking oil on your hands, rub in well, and wash your hands in a mild, gentle soap, and dry them. You are good to go! Your hands will become soft, and feel good, I promise.

I had the same problem! I still always wash my hands all the time! But I take like a bucket of water (I use bigger tupperware containers) and put warm water, and put like 4 or 5 teaspoons of baking soda in there. You can use this on your feat too! Make sure the water stays warm so you may need to change the water several times, let your hands or FEAT, soak for about 30 or 20 minutes. Do this about once or twice a week and then just in the morning and at night put lotion on and the usually stay soft! Good luck! :)

The best to use during the day is Aveeno, according to my doctor. As the other person said, Cornhusker's lotion is fantastic to use overnight. Lather it on your hands and then put on a pair of mittens to keep it from getting all over everything. This will stop the painful cracking and splitting that occurs. Aveeno also makes a cream that comes in a jar that is thicker than the lotion. It costs a bit more, but it's worth it.

There are several methods you can consider. Exfoliation is a good start, but you would have to do it every day. My favorite store brand of lotion is Olay Quench. They have a good repairing lotion. Also there is a Norwegian brand, that was supposedly created for Norwegian fishermen. Depending on your feelings about it, you could consider getting a manicure or hand treatments at a salon or spa. There also are therapy gloves that you can buy. You can sleep in them or you can wear them around while you watch t.v. Another suggestion for the callouses would be to get a foot file and use that on them. I know it sounds extreme, but I'm not sure how bad they are. And buying a little bottle of lotion to keep on you wouldn't hurt either. Hope this helps!

Lather your hands with a good lotion before you go to bed and put cotton gloves on. Keep them on all night. Do this frequently and you will see a big difference.

Drink plenty of water, for one. Hydrate from the outside in. And on the outside, I love the Mary Kay hand set they sell. I don't remember what it's called, but it's a 4-part system. It's a bit on the expensive side, but it keeps your hands hydrated and feels like a really expensive manicure every time you use it.
