Silk scarves do not soak up the mositure from your hair like a cloth scarf would do. It keeps the moisture locked in preventing it from breaking and becoming dry.

If your hair is falling out it will be falling out from the folicle so you don't really need to worry about breakage. Wear whatever scarves are comfortable. I had chemo and lost hair to that. I liked silky scarves because they felt nice on my scalp but I wore cotton knit hats too.

It wont steal the moisture from your hair like cotton scarves and bandanas would. And, since it is less abrasive, you're less likely to have breakage to your hair when you sleep.
