it depends:
1. has your pom ever bitten anything alive?? (not play bite, aggressive bite)
2. is your pom protective of you??
3. does the dog bark at strangers?? (a few yips doesn't count)
4. is the dog not submissive?

if you answered no to all the questions, you're probably going to be fine. however, to be precautioned, make sure to SLOWLY introduce them. like, the pom being on the floor near you as you hold the kitten. for the first couple mths, ALWAYS be around the two when they interact. if the dog shows no aggression whatsoever during this time period, you'll probably be fine. just make sure to go slowly. the process doesn't have to happen in a week. it could be a month until the pom gets to even sniff the cat. just be careful. good luck!!

Eventually, but it will take time.

The kitten will hiss a bit because the dog will sniff a lot! He will chase the kitten too. It is okay. Your dog was there first and needs the kitten to KNOW that. As a precaution, have a Vet or groomer trim the kittens nails to prevent eye damage to your dog.

Never yell at your dog to stop beating the cat. Just break them up and pet the cat in front of the dog. "Nice kitten, Good Kitten" are words you will want to use. Then put down the kitten and shower your dog with LOVE. Show your dog that nothing has changed and you and he are BFF.

It will take less than a month for the two to become friendly. They will either be best buds or just simple housemates.

Just be patient. It will work out okay.

Perhaps, not in the beginning but they will work things out.Actually, your pom may be frightened at first. I found that cats tend to get along with smaller dogs perhaps because their size is not perceived as a threat. Everything will go well Have a dog gone and purrfect year.
