I'd tell em to go for a hike. Any college woman's / ladies / girls track and field program wears the track clothes your talking about. Copy this and hand it to your athletic director. Also, ask him to call Mike Johnston, athletic directer at Horseheads High school in Horseheads NY. 14845. The girls on their track and volleyball teams wear short full-cut ladies undergarments. Girls on the swim team wear either a team suit ( high-cut). At sectionals and the state meat anything goes as long it's a one piece racing suit. We are in a modest upstate NY area. When It comes to girl sports LOOK-OUT! The school system wants them to have every advantage possible. Sometimes it may be mental but girls seem to respond favorably.

O.K., it sounds silly, but they are the coaches, so it's their decision. Your best bet is probably to try and show them that your required uniforms are hurting your performance on the track. There are plenty of "modest" outfits that you can wear that won't hurt your running and jumping. That may be a more reasonable compromise to shoot for.

It's a bit silly, but I guess it's to keep everyone looking (in their views) "decent". It's probably so that girl's bodies aren't a distraction or so that boys (or even adults) won't look and make comments. It's silly but justifiable.

My athletes wear fairly brief shorts for all events. One reason is aerodynamics... sloppy shorts legs flopping arond slow you down (and the are heavier). Two, baggy shorts look hideous.
