It's happened before - much distress after a week of antibiotics. It takes weeks of probiotics to get my gut flora back to normal. Can I take a probiotic now along with the antibiotic or will it interfer? I may have to wait and suffer the consequences, though I'd rather not.

Go to the drug store and get a bottle of Acidophillis capsules, they will replace the good bacteria in your instestines which the antibiotic kills along with the bad bacteria. A good Pharmacist should tell people when handing the antibiotics to you, that you have to take those capsules. I work at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada which has over 800 stores and those Pharmacist's are trained to tell you that. I wish all would, however they do not.
