secure job, excellent pension/salaries, training, if an area interests you,
downside: may be moved around a lot (hard on family).
And, no, you volunteer to do war duty!

Unfortunately my knowledge of Officering is limited, but several pros are: - If you go ROTP or NCM-SEP you won't need to pay for your Officer/NCM education - Many careers have direct civilian careers (for instance Naval Communicator, Naval Electronic Sensor Op, Metereological Techn, Med Tech, Postal Clerk, Aerospace Control Op) - Half-decent salary

You are joining one of the best army's in the world and you can be very proud of who you are . The bad is those f#$^&^g liberals have not supported our troops in years finacially ane the equipment is old and worn remember Bosnia sending troops with no guns so if you do go you will come back one special person

Actually its the Candian Forces. Totally integrated land, air and sea. A very professional bunch of people. And you could do a lot worse than being on that team.

Pros,
being part of a system that rarely lends a helping hand
Cons:
when they do help, they go hardcore. (or is that a pro also?)
