A guy at work has treated my friend very badly,he wined and dined her, told her he loved her, then one day went distant and told her to wait for him because he had 'family problems' ,then after a couple of months dumped her over the phone. She found out that he moved another co-worker into his house. My friend told everyone at work on friday about the way he treated her and now she wants to make him suffer. She told me she is going to tell everyone at work that she's pregnant,i think it's a good idea, what do you think?

A lie isnt going to solve the problem and will bring question as to her credability in regards to the rest of the story. If she lied about that what else did she lie about. She told her side of the story, she told the truth, that is all she can do, she cannot control other people and they will have to judge for themselves what they think of this person based on what she has shared and what else they know about this person. She may feel hurt, but her best way at getting back at him is to live her life well, nothing hurts more then seeing you did a person wrong and they are a better person despite it, or perhaps even for it.

Its a REALLY BAD Idea if she isnt pregnant, and or, if she is... its not his... Talking lawsuit time (I'd sue her *** off if that was the case) and she wont have to worry about being a coworker either as likely the company will fire her for making unjustified dammaging statements against another co-worker as well
Now.. If she is pregnant and it is his.. well Child support time... and ya cant be sued for something thats actually true really...
Now if she really wants to be creative.. get him a membership to some gay association or a subscription to a gay magazine and have it sent to him at his work.. everyone will be talking about it after it goes through the mail distribution.. and she dosent have to say a word LOL Is it mean? Yup (I've used this one myself) is it illegal nope... and its Hella funny...

I do not think its a very good idea. I know what its like to want to get back at someone, but trust me it usually backfires. The guy was a major a$$hole. he is not worth the time and effort. SHE is the one who is going to look like an a$$ when people find out she lied. she will look pety. I am sure she is a bright girl who can find a man who will treat her the right way.

Well that's just fine and dandy but she has to remember that it takes two to get pregnant and anything she says about him will reflect on her as well.
I'm sorry to hear she went through so much but in this case revenge isn't the answer but a good lawyer (even as much as I hate them) is a lot better. She could sue him for child support and for all of the bills it's going to incur. that means bucks and the publicity of it is going to look real bad on his part.

I don't think it is a very good idea. You should talk to her about this i know she's hurt but she needs to think about what will happen when everyone finds out she lied it will make the situation worse.

He handled things badly, but she's a sore loser. Tell her to drop it. Dating is about finding the right person. He made a decision and it wasn't her. At least he didn't leave her hanging.

I think that it would be better if maybe you just happened to mention in convo. that you think that your friend might be preg. If they ask why say that she's put on a little weight. Start the rumor for her and it will clear her name of any wrong doing.

no not a good idea. in the end it could come back and bite her in the butt. If I found out someone decided to spread rumors/lies about someone I would tell them it is time for her/him to leave the company.

I think that's really immature and if she wants to be the bigger person, she should let it go. Sure, it hurt her...that's more reason to not hurt him because she knows how terrible it feels. And if she isn't actually pregnant, then it's going to hurt her reputation just as much as it will hurt his.

That would be stupid. What will she do after that? Wear maternity clothes? It will only show that she is as big an idiot as he is. Let him go and be thanful he's gone. Forget about it.
