are maltese hypo allergenic dogs??

well i need a hypo allergenic dog and i fell in love with this maltese puppy? are they hypo allergenic?

First of all, no matter what any one tells you there are no such thing as hyper-allergenic dogs. People are first allergic to the animals dander and then the shedding is a secondary allergic annoyance. Breeds that do not shed get categorized in this manner because they cause less problems with allergies than shedding breeds.

I would first look into breeds that shed minimally. Please understand that just because a dog has a short coat, does not mean that they do not shed. Maltese do shed but not to the same degree as other breeds. However, the Maltese coat (even clipped short) requires DAILY brushing to prevent matting.

Yes. They have a single layer of hair so they do not shed. I have one and I'm allergic to dogs. They are great, just be prepared to do a lot of grooming!
