when will the de la hoya mayweather hype start?

this is supposed to be the biggest fight, when will they show promos inteveiews and start talkin bout it on ESPN?!?!?!?

hopefully never, de la hoya is washed up. he got beat 10 out of 12 rounds by some no name german before the hopkins fight. but they gave hime the decision anyway just so hopkins could knock him out with a body shot . there shouldnt be any hype maywether will win all 12 rounds easiest fight he will ever have

I'm guessing right around early March is when the REAL hype for this match begins. It's only January and there is already a buzz about it, but the closer it gets to the date of the fight the more you'll hear about the build up. This is such a highly anticipated showdown that it really doesn't need to much hype. It's the fight everyone wants to see and with the built-in story lines like Mayweather Sr. training De la Hoya to fight his son and going up against his brother Roger who will be in Floyd Jr's corner, people just can't wait to see how all this plays out. And the fact that you have 2 excellent fighters and one is the pay-per-view king in Oscar and the other one is considered pound for pound the best fighter in the world today in Floyd, make people want to see it even more. I think it will be a great evening of boxing on May 5th!

HBO will be airing a 4- or 5- part series leading up to the fight. They will be shown on Sundays to coordinate with the networks highest rated shows, Sopranos and Entourage. Training camp footage is planned to be shown, along with the drama of De la Hoya's trainer situation. As of now, Freddie Roach looks to be the guy in Golden Boy's corner.

It's already starting here in L.A. I don't know if they are making a mistake with the date though--it's going to be overshadowed by the Derby.
