Civics are hot sellers these days both because of their perceived quality and reliability and their fuel economy. In many areas that means that you will pay full MSRP and some dealers will even jack the price up higher than that.

If the dealer isn't willing to negotiate you'll have to decide it you want to pay his price or walk out the door and go for something less popular.

i just got one out the door for around 18500. tell the salesmen that another place quoted you at 17019 thats 1$ over cost ask if he is willing to match it. thats for an lx sedan with an auto.
