hmmm where to begin....i dont really belive in internet dating but no disrespect to anyone who does its just that its not my thing but am cool with others who find it suits them, i wouldn't label anyone a saddo for such a thing but anyway bak 2 my story....i have been talking to this guy online (DIDN'T meet him in chat room - met him on myspace) we'v been talking for almost a year now and we'c become really good friends. The online relationship has always been based on a friendship basis datings just been happily disregarded.
we exchanged phone numbers ages ago and talk on teh phone frequently - we have become quite close friends, i feel as though i can tell him anything, he makes fun of me and i call him all sorts of names and even then neitehr of us mind, he makes me feel like a million dollars! But recently when i think about him i find myself smiling....
have i started falling for this guy???? if yes then how do i "unfall" for this guy..because a relationshp is jout the question!

hi all thaanks for all the answers so far they're great! just a bit more info- this guy is a Dr and is definately genuine am sure he could bag himself plenty of girls using the title and status if he wanted to...so i don't think he'l be one of those freaky spooky kidnapper/evil type (you know what i mean).
Also teh reason a relationship is out of teh question is not because of the internet issue but rather cultural etc etc he is a different ethnicity to me (although i can speak his language) but both of our familys will kick up a fuss and things will become far to complex so thats why...
also he's not mentioned anything about a relationship he didnt even ask for my number or ask if i was single or anything whn we first met, thats why we became freinds because he's sooo different...

Well, just to start, I met my man of 4 years on the Internet and we live happily together now... but back to your story. Why is it out of the question. Is it cos ur involved with someone else? If its just cos of the whole 'i don't meet people off the Internet' well I'm sure you could get over it if you really like the guy. However like someone else said, it could be because of the 'people act differently than in real life' thing. The Internet is a fantasy place to escape off to and when u phone him, your still doing that. Maybe you could keep him in your little fantasy land and then nothing ever has to happen... Question is, are you strong enough not to take the next step and meet up??? :)

In its perpsective it's fine. None of us have quite fathomed the place of cybernetic communication yet. You've moved on to phone calls. Just keep your thoughts about it in that perspective if you really cannot explore further. But ask yourself why you took the risk of having these feelings if you can't explore things further. Ask yourself what you were looking for. Is a relationship really out of the question? Was cyberspace the easy way out? ie a relationship that wasn't?

I think you might be falling for him. You can't stop falling when you start BUT you can fall for someone else instead. Go out and look for a cute guy who you like and get to know him. Then you can continue to be friends with the 360 guy and you will have a great boyfriend who you can really enjoy being with.

If you're going to meet the guy, do it safely (ie in a group setting).
Don't leave yourself in a position of always questioning what might have been.

this is a really good question, in fact one of the best l have seen.. l think on the net we are better behaved than in real life...and we try not to judge..so we have like..errrmmm puppy appeal..ie your pet never judges you..so you love it the more...not saying that the feelings are not real...anyhow why should we not make each other happy... very good question that deserves some good answers..
