Bad idea, wouldn't do it. He he wants his daughter to have his last name, then he should marry you. Was he not there, sign the birth certificate? Why all the sudden, is it a big deal. I would keep it the same as yours and if that changes then change her also.

It is really your choice to change you baby's name or not. I was not married when I had my child but I gave him his father's last name. Unfortunately, his father is no longer in his life. He really made not attempts to be a real father to his son but now my son is stuck with his last name forever. I wish I would of made the decision to give him my last name instead of his fathers.

You better watch out he may in the future try to get custody of her. Tell him your daughter gets his last name when you do.

good idea to change her name to his ---just in case you totally split up the baby has his name and he will have to pay child support------------this is one way of him legally admitting he is the childs father as for you to later maybe have to try and prove he is should you end up going your seperate ways.

Since your already giving it all away without him having to commit to you, you might as well give your kid his name too. Just dont ever wonder or complain about why he doesnt want to marry you, he has it all already he doesnt need to marry you.

Keep your baby's name as it is. If her father asks why, tell him if he hasn't figured it out by now, he never will.

heck, i wouldn't... my kids have my name.. if you want to hyphenate it.. if you will be together for a long time a compromise would show an effort in the reltionship on your part, but i wouldn't
