My boyfriend really wants to get a tattoo he's, he's just wondering where he should get it. He doesn't want it on h is chest or anything like that, and he's not really muscular so arm tattoos won't really look good.
(And please, refrain from giving me all the "he shouldnt get a tattoo, when he's old it'll be all wrinkled" crap. If you don't have suggestions, don't just answer to give me a holy roly speech.)

Actually a tattoo looks better on arms that don't have a lot of muscle bulk. I have skinny arms (with long ropey muscles) and I have tattoos on both of them. His upper arms would make a great location because for one; he can keep them undercover if discretion is needed (I wear just above the elbow length polo style shirts at work and no one I work with knows that I have tattoos) and if he decides he wants more Then he could possibly work them into a half sleeve.
My only other advise.....In this day and age there is no reason that anybody should have to wear crappy ink. Get on the internet and do your research. Find someone who's work makes your eyes pop. Be willing to wait at little longer ..... travel a little further .....and pay a little more. Your boyfriends tattoo is going to be a piece of art.....go for a Picasso don't settle for an Elvis on Black Velvet

It does depend on what the design is; it should fit/flow with the body, and sometimes one will determine the other. A good artist can advise on this but, ultimately, your boyfriend has to make the decision.
BTW, why do people who hate tattoos answer these questions?! Tattoos aren't for everyone, and that's as it should be. The difference between "us" and "them" is that we don't criticize those who choose NOT to be inked!

just because he isn't muscular doesn't mean he can't get a tattoo on his arms. unless his arms are just super skinny like spaghetti then a tattoo will be great on his arms. i am not a fan of guys with big giant arm muscles anyway. they seem self absorbed. what is he planning on getting? if he wants something large or something that could be incorporated into a larger tattoo then he could get a back tattoo. top of the feet is quite painful but looks great. a full calf piece looks good.

Well placement usually depends on the style of the tattoo, but right between the shoulder blades almost always looks good.

Tats are personal to the person.Any place that you want. If you want it to show put it where it will be seen if not the opposite applies.Just be careful when thinking about names. Hope you like what you choose and where you put it. Talk to the tat artist they are very experienced and will help you if you need it.

Forearm all the way. Be bold, no seriously, it's up to him. Just have him pick a design that he really likes ,and check his artist's work first.

I think on his ankle because you can see it during the summer when he would be wearing sandals, it wouldn't detract from not being muscular or thin, and I think it looks sexy.
