I've never heard that poorer people prefer spicy food!
But in some region of China people have a preferance towards spicy food, such as Sichuang province,Hunan Province, and Guizhou province

Each city has their own style of eating food. Some people like it spicy and some people eat sweet food... Because the history of food is so long, the flavors tend to stay at certain regions. Anyone can cook any different type of food but they just may not do very well...hope it helps!!

I don't know if that's true but it could be just becuase peppers and spicy food are a cheap way to season food. So people with little money may be more likely to prepare spicy foods because it is cheaper than having a lot of different seasonings, but just as flavorful.
I don't think it is an across-the-board truth though.

i might want to wish to understand the position you're from? i'm from New Jersey, white center type. Italian food would properly be warm. no longer as warm as more recent arrivals Asian Indians and Mexicans. initially wealthy or undesirable you employ what grows the position you're from say like Mexico had warm Chilies because the starting up of there time. warm food is not merely strong yet strong for you. human beings have a lot less colon cancer in countries that eat very warm truly spiced food. u.s. is fortunate because we are so huge we are able to improve some thing. the position I stay we are fortunate because we've eating places from all diverse cultures. when I go back and forth to different aspects the options are not so tremendous. start up with somewhat warmth and also you'll strengthen to love it. Poverty has no longer some thing to do with warm ingredients. And in countries the position herbs {as India} are used for medical treatment we are finding out further and added the well being reward.

The hottest food in China comes from Hunan and Sichuan provinces which aren't exactly that prosperous (except for Chongqing which is now it's own municipality.) Xinjiang food can also be very spicy and that region is quite poor too.

This is not entirely true. In china, not every place is hot, so they cook these really spicy food. Ever hear of the place Sichuan ( like little sichuan, the restuarant in california)? that's one place that's famous for their spicy food, but they're very poor
sorry if it's not that clear...
