Maybe, but you can always say that you planned to improve on the original paper - and why not make the place look nice? However, if you intended to cause inconvenience in the first place, then yes she'll notice as was the intention. I once had a tenant who asked permission to paint a room, and then painted it in a most inappropriate colour that took a lot of time to shift. I was told it was because people don't like landlords, but it wasn't my fault I had to temporarily vacate my house.
