Maybe. Get your kitty checked.
PS Leave your cat food inside and try to not kill anymore racoons. IIt probaly didn't move the first time because your dad may have dazed it. You should of just brushed the racoon away not violently but more like shooing. Or you should of gto inside with your cats and locked the door and waited for the animal people. I know the racoon tried to bite your kitty and gosh a racoon shopwing its fangs does sound csray but you shouldn't have killed it.
Bettter luck next time/

Well first of all you need to stop leaving your pets food outside this will just attract more wild animals. Who killed the raccoon the cat or your dad? If it was the cat and the cat was bitten you need to take it to your vet to get antibiotics to prevent an infection of the wound a bite would have left. I don't know where you live but if you live in certain parts of the U.S you really shouldn't leave any type of food out because of black or grizzly bears. (this depends on where you live) will smell the food and come up around your house and eat it. I hope this helped.

The only way to tell if a raccoon carries rabies or not it for the DEC to test the body for the virus. They can call you to confirm or not if it tested positive if the body was set away for testing. If your cats are up to date with their rabies vacinations then that should not be too much to worry about. The raccoons behavior is not too much to worry about - but I would recommend not leaving your cats food outside anymore as that is why he was there in the first place - a free meal.

It is illegal to kill wildlife..I don't think it was anyones pet, it was just trying to eat and survive like any other animal. If you leave food out on the porch than you are just asking for wildlife to come and eat it. Why would you not just pick the cat food up and put it inside rather than killing an innocent animal because you and your family are irresponsible and uneducated.

That makes me a little bit angry, quite frankly. First, you leave food outside tempting other animals to come into your yard and porch to eat it. Then when they do come and eat the food, you go out there with abroom and bludgeon the poor animal to death. You and your parents ought to be ashamed of yourselves.
Feed your cats indoors!

I'm glad that he won;t be there to terrorize your cat's they probably would want to fight for food.this weather has all the wild animals going weird .i seen a catapeler larvae today and ants .these usually don;t come out till at least end of April end of may,,,,,good luck and thanks to dad,,

Oh brother. What do you really expect by leaving food outside? Did you expect the animal to ask permission? This is what you have to deal with being irresponsible pet owners.
