"Jehovah" is the personal name of God. It is disrespectful to God when someone irreverently applies the divine name to some human. The religion best known for teaching the divine name is called "Jehovah's Witnesses"; individual adherents may be called "Witnesses".
The preaching work is performed because Jesus commanded it, not because it benefits Jehovah's Witnesses personally or as a religion. Jehovah's Witnesses incessantly encourage their adherents to read, study, and meditate from the bible. No congregation "elder" would dare contradict the bible's plain instruction, or he would quickly lose that privilege. Since every Witness shares in the house-to-house ministry, every Witness is quite familiar with the bible itself.
Ironically, few of their most virulent critics have made such a thorough study of the bible, but instead they base their accusations on hearsay and opinion. Which sounds more "brainwashed" to you?
The vast majority of Witnesses hope to enjoy life ON EARTH forever, rather than in heaven. Jehovah's Witnesses understand heaven to refer to the dwelling place of spirit creatures such as Jesus and the angels. They understand the Scriptures to teach that exactly 144,000 humans will join Christ Jesus as kings and priests to administer God's Kingdom (which will soon replace all earthly governments).
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite
(Revelation 14:1) Lamb [Jesus] standing upon the Mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand
(Revelation 20:6) they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him
The men and women who make up the 144,000 are selected by God from among two thousand years of Christians. Over whom will they rule? Over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
Hell is NOT someplace/something mankind needs to fear; there is no suffering in the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire
Almighty Jehovah God selects those few who have the heavenly calling. Each person "feels" his own hope and each person's hope remains unquestioned by his fellow Christians. Still the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%*) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]

I have never read anything so blantly untrue as that is. I know a bunch of them. First of all they don't believe in going to heaven.
They believe in a paradise earth. that good people will live forever on the earth. They won't take money because they have no paid clergy and no one makes any money. I was looing up religions on the internet and they are the poorest.
They don't believe in taking part in politics or fighting wars.
Wouldn't it be nice if they all did that. They have no clergy and the men who go there preach, so there is no elders with power.
No one at the top gets rich from donations they barely get by.
And they have a group of men who run it not one person.
They barely make enough to pay for the books bibles and magazines they give away. They have never asked me for a donation.

y do they constantly go door to door brainwashing
"because Jesus told the apostles to do that and to tell the apostles to keep the word by going door to door!"
y do they believe in a religion that states only and I quote "one hundred thousand"
It is 144,000 people that are already chosen that clearly says this in the bible.
and y do the "elders" so much power over there other wise brainwashed minds?
It is not brainwashing minds, it's people who believe what they want to, as you would prefer not to, you have your own belief and they don't force anyone, they like to share what's in the bible and only what's in the bible, nothing else!

It's 144,00 and they're called witnesses, not Jehovah's. Jehovah is the name of God and. And in their religion "heaven" to them is the head government that is going to rule over the perfect world and the people that are going to be brought back to live in it. Most people's definition of "heaven" would be the perfect world not the government but that's not what they believe. I'm not a witness but much of what they say go hand in hand with what I have read from the bible.

Brainwashing? No, they are trying to help people to find the biblical truth so the people can make decision if they want to obey God's Law or not. I’m trying to obey God’s Law as best as I can. Peace.

According to the Authorized Site of the Office of Public Information of Jehovah's Witnesses:
Why do you go from door to door?
Jesus told his followers to "make disciples of people of all the nations," and he set the example by "journeying from city to city and from village to village, preaching and declaring the good news of the kingdom of God." The apostle Paul taught in public places, in the marketplace, and from house to house. We follow their example. Other religions have acknowledged the Christian obligation to preach in public places and from house to house, although this is often left to a limited group of missionaries or clergy to fulfill.—Matthew 24:14; 28:19, 20; Luke 8:1; Acts 20:20.
According to Watchtower 101 (URL below):
**You must go from door to door weekly to gain converts
**The door to door work is called "the Service"
**Part time door to door workers are called "Auxiliary Pioneers"
**Full time door to door workers are called "Regular Pioneers"
**Full time door to door workers who have stricter quotas than Regular Pioneers, are called "Special Pioneers"
The last URL lists some questions that JW do not like to be asked...
