I can understand them being in an uproar over pollution but natural racehorses are bred and born to do one thing --race. When their careers are over, unless they are adopted and kept as pets on a riding type farm, isn't it the humane thing to do to put them down, especially if they had been injured? They can't be used as plow horses or to pull the Budweiser beer wagon, right? So what's up with that?

This a very indepth question. First of all fossil fuels put out co2 which absorbs a certain freq. of light. Now by doing this it heats up the earth bc rays of light that would normally bounce off the ground and go back out into space are geting trapped and heating up the world. Now racehorses are only good for one thing full speed, true they are very strong but they are only stron in running, if they were to pull a plow or something like that the chance of them getting a broke leg or injuring themselves are very good. As for what is being donw with them I dont know but they are genetically engineered to do only one thing and when they cant do that anymore there is not much they can be used for except glue which they are no longer used for anymore, but they do make dogfood out of them I think

If you were born in a military camp and trained as a soldier all your life how would you feel if they put you down after you reached a certain point? Don't thrown away a life just because it has no importance to you. And if you are rich enough to own a racing horse than I am sure that you can afford to find a home for it.

It appears to me that you are looking for a certain answer. Sorry.
Burning fossil fuels contributes to pollution and to greenhouse gases which contribute to global warming.
Any animal should not be bred for one thing and then destroyed. Maybe give up breeding for racing. If racing is necessary then keep them until natural death.
Unles maybe you think that after your career is over .............
