Sometimes it's too big to actually suck on it so the movement up and down is more than enough but it has to be done for a fairly long time. The trick is to not give up so quickly.

i dont know about giving but i can tell you from recieving point of view...
three stages really...
the gentle stage... where licking and kissing is involved...
second stage where harder action is needed... and perhaps he wnat to slap it (gently in ur face or ur lips)
third is release... depend on how adventerous.. u either spit or swallow... if ur extremly adventerous ur gargle... lol not too many of those around though...
