I don't understand that. I never read the Bible while I am in Hotel room... I always take bath, snack, watch tv, and go to bed.
I don't understand why Hotel have Bibles in the room.
I feel the Bibles should not be in Hotel, I am not an Atheist
but I think the Bible should be in a good place like Churches and
other people' homes.

My goodness, just because you don't want the Bible in your room maybe some else might want it. Is it hurting you? You see years ago people used to believe in God, that is why ,"In God we Trust", was placed on American money. That is why there were prayers in schools. Times have changed and many more people have pushed God out of everywhere they can. So what you are seeing is a trace of the past, having a Bible in a hotel. Were these folks right? You tell me? Is crime lower? Are people kinder? Are children safe in schools? The threat of terrorism is always hanging over our heads. No we are on a slippery slope down. People who kick God out of the country do not prosper and live in peace.

The Gideons are a group of Christians who are primarily responsible for this. They started doing it a long time ago, and supply the bibles free to those who are willing to accept them.

Most people are not offended because they are put away in a drawer, and there in no overt promotion of them.

The reason they are accepted is that the majority of people who are customers support the effort, or they don't care enough to complain.

The thinking on the part of the Gideons is that often people have extra time to read while they are in a hotel, and can pick up a bible without being embarrassed. Also, people alone in a room have more of an inclination to ponder the direction of their lives. Some may just pick it up and read it wondering what all the fuss is about.

I suspect that Muslim countries might have the Koran in their hotel rooms. Same thing. The fact is there are more Christians in the US than athiests, Muslims, Buddists, witches, or anything else.

Think about Jesus. He said that the outcasts needed The Word more than the righteous did. That's why He went into sinners homes, because they were the most needy.

Think about what sometimes happens in hotel rooms - fornication and adultery. I've heard about prom nights when the date ends up on a hotel bed. Adulterers usually do their thing ing a hotel room.
Your question was 'why we have Bibles in hotel rooms?'
The sinners know the Bible is there before or after the act. But they know its there in case they want to read it to help themselves or to repent and change their lives for the better

One of the goals of Christians is to spread the good news to as many people as possible. Bibles are expensive, and the Bibles in hotel rooms provide a good oppertunity for many people to read a Bible who would not pay $50 for a Bible. If just one Bible is taken out of a hotel in a year, it is still worth it.

The Gideons are a "christian group" whose mission is to see a bible placed in every hotel room in the country. The hotels obviously agreed to it.

If the Muslims ever asked permission to place the Quran in every hotel room, well I never heard about it, and the answer was no, because I have never seen a Qu'ran in any hotel.

Thats called discrimination BTW.

It's up to the company. If they want to put a Bible in their hotel room, they have every right to do so. My guess would be that more people are happy the Bible is in the room than people that are unhappy with it. If the majority of people were complaining, the business would take them out of the hotel room.

The thought occured to one of these men that placing the Word in every hotel room would be fulfilling the divine mission of the Gideons Association.
The Gideons first placed Bibles in hotels in 1908. The Word of God placed by The Gideons often meets the needs of travelers in times of loneliness and despair.Other areas of distribution for Hotel Bibles include motels, hospitals, jails, doctors' offices, ships, and airplanes, distributing the Bible in the human traffic lanes and streams of everyday life.
How did you find it? I've always seen them in the drawer of the nightstand.
If you don't like it you could lodge a complaint with the hotel, or you could cry to God.

"So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:
it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please,
and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." (Isaiah 55:11)

There is a group of missionaries called the Gideons and their main focus is to put the Word of God into the hands of as many people as possible! There are numerous stories of people who had never opened up a Bible, staying at a hotel or in a hospital and finding that Gideon Bible and reading it for the first time and coming to want more! More of Jesus! It is awesome!

The story is that once upon a time someone left their bible in a motel room. The next day a prosperous businessman who was very depressed checked into that room and was very blessed by that bible, and He founded "The Gideons" who took on the project of placing bibles in all Hotel rooms. (I'm not sure it is true, but that is the story)

The BIBLES that are in hotels/motels are donated by a local Giddeon society. There are a number of people who want to read while away on business and this allows them the opportunity to do so. I personally take my own BIBLE but I think it is nice of them to have it available anyway. Have a great day!
