Anybody have any experience of flying with Singapore airlines?

Question

Will be flying to Sydney on a 747 in economy and I'd like to know what to expect. Is it a pleasant cabin? What are the staff like? Where's the best place to sit?
Only have experience of flying with British Airways.

I have flown on Singapore Airlines a couple of times and in my opinion, I would have to say that they are the best out there. I have flown numerous airlines over the past 5 years and they definitley have cornered the market on "customer care".

The cabin on a 747-400 isn't too bad as compared to others. Granted the emergency exit has extra leg room, but most of the time, they are either by the galley or bathroom, so there are usually people standing in front of you waiting to go to the bathroom. I would rather sit in a non exit row so that I can sleep. Here is a good site to learn about seating:

The flight attendants are the best that I have encountered. They are very friendly and are there to make your flight enjoyable. With such a great staff, the cabin environment is very pleasent.

Singapore airlines are the best, the stewerdesses are so helpful, the food is great, I always go to australia with singapore airlines, everyone's got heir own t.v screen in front of them, and lots of games for the kids. i have traveled to oz with them at least 8 times and always a smooth flight, I found them to be better than quantas. And at around £650 per person think that is a reasonable price for a return ticket. be sure to stop over at singapore airport as it is so beautiful and spotlessly clean! i usually always sit on an isle seat as I like to use the toilet without disturbing other people, but even a window seat is ok if you prefer. good Luck.

I have been on a lot of different airlines and Singapore airlines is the best by far hands down. The flight attendants will bend over backwards to help you.

I haven't but know others who have and found them excellent. Best place to sit on a plane for legroom is at the exit but you have to be prepared and able to help in an emergency situation then.

Very good air line. Service and staff are excellent. You will not be dis appointed. If you like a bit of legroom, sit by the emergency exits.

If you only flown with B.A,then Singapore will be paradise to you,great food ,and service,i envy you what a way to start the holiday.
