I tried both. WHen I Run, my heart rate goes up to 178 BPM but by the time I complete 4 miles, i'm totally beat and sometimes don't finish. When I jog slower, my heart beat between 145-150, it's i can do it forever but I stop when I'm bored. Which is healther and more benificial? objective is cardio (long term) and some wieght loss intially.

Jogging - gives you benefits than running. Its better for your knees, wears them out less; you'll actually burn fat more than running because your body uses up energy faster than it would with jogging. Once you've lost the weight increase the speed to meet the cardio requirements.

Studies have shown that you get more out of one day of strong exercises the one day of light or no exercises.
I would suggest to do slow long jog,45 Min's to an hours, every other day and on the opposite day run short sprints then jog very slow till the heart goes back down then sprint some more.
Or could alternate it with biking and/or swimming and even horse back riding.

Go for what you like and will stick with. Don't let anyone tell you you are doing it right or, wrong. You're in no competition. As long as you're maintaining a routine that works for you, you are doing it right. Jog, run or mix it up to suit your whim.

Give your body rest to recoup and repair injuries, if any, by jogging on alternate days. More than that you definitely need professional advice.
