I dont understand the hatred between us. And so far all people on this site bash Christians, Muslims, and Jews. They are all athiests.
Then they turn around and say WE are hateful.

Im a devoted christian and i respect other faiths AS EVERYONE should.

No rhetoric or hate speech, civilized comments welcome.

What do you think about Athiests, Christians, Muslims and Jews?
I respect all but my respect for the Athiests is FASTLY declining.

What do you think?

everybody is different. there are some fellow Christians I would not want to be grouped with. as salvation is individual so are people individuals. Basic stuff but when people forget the basic stuff then it compounds it's own error and unchecked becomes bigotry.

It is a natural and useful function to recognize patterns in groups of all things. a natural function of the mind. but this function when applied to people quickly becomes a mechanism of unjust labeling. I think it is self evident.

sometimes the 5% defines the 100% in the minds of many. rightly our mind processes the information and wrongly we translate that into mistreatment of unrelated individuals "just in case".

the "hatred between us" is not really between US but between the most noticeable and damaging members of our respective groups. It has a way of magnifying itself and changing people's perceptions and then words and eventually actions.

it is better to be a little unjust toward an unknown party than to suffer great injustice at their hand. survival.

Oh, I'm an Atheist who's against religion all the same, BUT I leave people alone unless they say something that is so off-the-wall stupid that I literally fele like I should slap some sense into them. I even feel that way about Atheist fanatics. Those who directly fire verbal missiles at religion are just poorly raised idiots.

I have christian friends who I know to have never said anything quite as mean or evil-hearted as some fanatics and/ or fundies. I respect the person, but I could give two hoots less about what they believe in. As long as they don't try to recruit me into their religion.

Pangel is an example

i think that this kind of attitude is what gets people in trouble in the first place, it's called stereotyping, and in most cases, it's not such a good thing.
I'm an Atheist, and i respect all religious people for believing in a higher power, what i do not respect is when they try to tell me that i have no morals because i do not believe in a God. I also do not respect when people take direct jabs at my beliefs when they A) know nothing about them and B) have only their own personal beliefs with no evidence behind them to back themselves up.
When people make generalizations about my beliefs because they differ with theirs, that is when i get nasty, and it's not because I'm an Atheist, it's because i am a human being.

First off, I treat everyone as an individual. I don't see religion or any other characteristic as a tool for prejudice towards anyone, including Atheists. So, I give people a chance to say something stupid before writing them off as insane. I won't look at an Atheist, Jew, Christian, or Muslim and judge them before knowing them. When it comes to Atheists, I don't approve of their disbelief towards God however I won't judge them or do anything against them because of their disbelief. I believe that God will judge us all and that it's not my job to judge. I feel the same way about Jews and Christians. It's God's job to judge, not mine.

As for the hateful comments on the internet: I see them as nothing more than everyday hate speech that can be encountered out on the street or where ever. These people exist and will always exist but no fear, they'll get theirs on Judgement Day.

Those people who claim that they're Christians, Jews or Muslims but go out and bash other religions, are only fooling themselves because they're not doing as their own religions teach them to do. They do nothing but satsify what satan wants and as much as they go to Church, Mosque or Synagogue, they do the devils work when they make hateful comments towards certain religious groups. Again, they'll get theirs on Judgement Day.

I hope that answers your question.

I have not talked to a jew or hindu on here, but so far i have not read anything rude by a muslim. I think it has alot to do with that christains and atheists make up so many people here that there are bound to be some rude ones that give a bad name to the whole group

If ye have to label, I am a Pagan.
I am not an Atheist. I do not bash Christians or Jews. I respect everyones faith, except Islam. Following the rantings of an illiterate, murderous, pedophile is neither a faith or religion, just idiocy.

I like how ye only lean to the "Atheists" as bashers. What about Christians shoving their agenda or stealing ancient Pagan ways and claiming it as their own? Jews don't seek converts or recruit.
And why did you leave out Jain's, Zen, Buddha and many others? Exclusion could be interpreted as bashing.

Why can't we all just do our own thing and not be harassed for doing it?

I think the Atheists are grand, the way they stand up to Fundies and their cries of damnation to all who do not believe as they do.

I have no quarrel with Atheists, Jews, or Muslims, or any other faith, except the Christians. And, their Evangelicals are an embarrassment to all other Christians. And, it seems that is what is mostly on YA.

I respect Athiests: I am a christian but it is those who are religous that are fighting wars and killing innocent people.
I am for freedom of religion. If everyone was we wouldn't be in the mess the world is in. All due respect, it is not the Athiests that are fighting.

I think that Chr*stians bash atheists plenty, enough to deserve some bashing back. I understand you may be peaceful, but other Chr*stians on this site are not. So unless you want to convince them to cut out the hate, I don't think you'll get anywhere. In other words, "remove the log from your own eye before commenting on your neighbor's splinter"

I am a Christian
We must respect everyone just as God has respected us in giving us a choice to choose.
Never the less we must lovingly teach others the truth about God. And with the help of the Holy Spirit they too he must call.
