My friend was rape.d and her b/f and I have talked with her about turning the two guys in. She says that she won't do anything b/c she gave up fighting back when she knew it was hopeless and in the eyes of the law, that makes it legal.
Is she right??
The second reason why not is b/c the two guys were old friends of hers. She tried to fight back but ended up with a broken wrist and broken ribs.

What happened was not legal and should be reported to the police, and if she can't get them for the rape than she should put them in jail for the assault and battery!

First, it sounds like gang rape. Second, It doesn't matter if she fought back, or not. I have heard it said better to eventually give in and live than fight and likely be killed. If she wound up with a broken wrist and ribs that also constitutes assault. Did she seek medical treatment? The soon the better as the longer she goes the harder it will be for the authorities to collect evidence. I would at least try to have them charged with assault, but don't wait. What she does might make the difference wither, or not they do this to some other girl who might not be so lucky. The time limit might be different from state to state, so check with the police. I WOULD take action though.

Your poor friend needs counseling to overcome her grief and guilt over not fighting back.
No, it is NOT legal to have forced sex with someone even if they don't fight back. And if she has a broken wrist and ribs, this will qualify as assault as well as rape.
She needs to see the police soon -- they will want to do a medical investigation to obtain evidence about the rape. And she should definitely also have her own doctor test her for STDs and pregnancy.
Her two "old friends" need to be punished and they need to be stopped. What they did is illegal, as well as monstrous. They need to spend a good long time in prison and find out just what it's like to be beaten and be forced to have sex with someone.

It is rape, those two guys should be in jail, go to the police make a report, make sure she brings the medical records with her. Courts are not very lenient on people accused of rape.

you and her bf cant 'turn them in' bc you didnt see it, at least i hope not. you can report it. but shes the only one that can actually have charges pressed
