My dad doesn't care if I date boys, but my mom has a different view. I almost got to her with a puerto rican, but it didn't work out. When I ask her if I could date she always ask if he is spanish. [my moms dominican] It seems I have a better chance with spanish guys then black guys like my dad. I still date but I'm tired of hiding it. How can I make her understand that I can date.

Maybe you and your mom should have a heart to heart about why she feels you shouldn't date certain boys. Maybe if you find out how she really feels, you can find a way to change her mind, or maybe even understand why she feels the way she does and agree. I'm not saying you will agree with your mother, but she may have a good reason to feel the way she does. Thanks for listening.

Just try to find a dominican black mix. Just joking Tell her that u are old enough to date who u choose. It shouldn't be about race anyway

If you are over 18 your mom has to deal with it. If under 18 talk to your mom about it. Tell her that you like the boy for who they are not because they are spanish. If she doesn't get it, there is nothing you can do about it.

Don't worry you aren't the only one who deals with this type of problem all you can do is show her that you are responsible. The only way you can is by telling her that skin color or heritage doesn't judge the way you like the guy

If you're under 16 then you shouldn't be dating anyways.But you just have to sit her down and talk to her and let her know that you're old enough to know what kind of guy you would like to date

my mom is like that too. just give it time. show her you are respomsible. maybe she will come around.
