Jodie, my question isn't DO they, its do you think they should. Plus most gov't clinics do it only based on income.

They do offer free birth control at your local health department and actually at some free clinics as well. Also every store I have ever been in I have seen condoms which are not that expensive. If someone can't afford birth control that should be a hint to them that they shouldn't be having sex. I know that they only offer free birth control to families below a certain income requirement but if you are above that income requirement then you should be able to afford condoms or at least some kind of birth control. With all of this being said even though it is offered it is quite apparent that the population is still growing rapidly and there are still teen's getting pregnant. But it isn't always the women who can't afford birth control that are getting pregnant, sometimes birth control plans fail, and accidents do happen. I know I was on the depo shot when I got pregnant with my son. Am I going to sit here and say that I didn't take all the precautions available to have more birth control coverage but all of that is said and done and there is nothing I can nor would I do to take it back. I think even though most teens can get birth control without the consent of their parents, I think if more parents better educated their kids on sex and the consequences of what could happen if you engage in sexual intercourse then some of those teens wouldn't be getting pregnant. I also think that if some schools had a better sex ed class that would also help, telling the kids about condoms and what not isn't going to get to them the most, let them talk to real teen-aged mothers and let them see how they are struggling if they are struggling and let them see first hand what happens if you get pregnant at a young age. Now a days the number of younger teens and even preteens getting pregnant is actually quite disturbing to me because it makes me wonder what these parents are allowing their children to do, I knew someone that was 15 and her mother would just let her have sex her exact words are I can't control what she is going to do, my response to that is if you are aware that your child is having sex and allowing it to happen under your roof then that is a problem. You better know that I will educate my son and any future children about sex and what could happen as a result of making the grown up choice to have sex.

This is a very good question. If they would give birth control then i think a lot of younger kids would take it and have a better chance at not having baby's that they either don't want or can support them selves. But there is nothing wrong with being a single parent.

That would be the smart thing to do but in my area our local health department offers birth control based on your income. When I was 18 I got birth control for $5 for 3 months worth.

you do not recognize what you're speaking about. First "birth control" refers to at least some thing from pills, to condoms, to diaphragms, and assorted different products. evidently you're speaking of pills; if it is the case you should state as such. Condoms are very efficient in battling STDs, BTW, if used properly. maximum married couples use birth control, in the different case, there's various of undesirable little ones. Assuming that birth control is the only purview of unmarried people is indicative of you lack of understanding on the concern. people do not use birth control to stay away from STDs, they use it to stay away from being pregnant. and there is not any attempt in any respect for authorities presented birth control. there is an attempt to compel insurance organizations to conceal it. They conceal Viagra, why no longer birth control. your human being opinion with reference to the morality of premarital sex is only hat your opinion. no one is forcing you to have it, although, you at the on the spot are not the arbiter of morality. Heck, i doubt you're even a tax payer. As a 14 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous male, it is admirable that you've an opinion on the concern, yet again, your opinion is yours only. once you're 16 and meet an outstanding youthful woman, you should finally end up fairly satisfied to locate that she is on the pill. And "planning to do it so as that they do no longer have a infant" is called the rhythm approach. did you recognize what they call those who use the rhythm thanks to stay away from being pregnant? father and mom, because it is rather ineffective.

The government does provide free birth control! Duh go to any free clinic or family planning clinic they give you a choice of pills, or condoms! For those single parents, abortions, and poor children, that is the result of stupid people who need to get a permission note from the government to allow breeding!

I think it would significantly lower the number of those things. Why is it that most insurance companies cover Viagra, but won't cover birth control pills? Double standards in this country.
