I am 14 years old and I am going to Europe on an educational trip. I have raised all of the money but 1000 dollars, and I don't know what types of fundraising I can do. Please shout out any ideas that a 14 year old could easily pull off in about 5 months. Thanks!

I am an honors student and I play sports, so I don't have time to get a job after school or any other time for that matter.

Get a job. You only need to work after school for two hours a day at $5 an hour, to make $50 a week. Then in 5 months, you will have $1000. Don't bother fundraising. You're not exactly raising money to feed starving children. You just end up spending a lot of time begging and getting laughed at and then turned down. Working is easier.

I work in the wireless industry and I used to work retail and I heard HORROR stories like this all the time! I know if my daughter did that I would probably take the phone away for a few months and only let her use it when she was out of the house AND I'd have her do chores and pay me back the FULL $1,000. Whatever it took ... she would have to pay it back. It'll show her the value of a dollar and to really maintain that type of restriction in the future if she knows that she will have to work to pay you back. Honestly, I know that it's important for your kids to have a phone but I would suggest you talk to your cellphone provider and see if there is a way to restrict her calling. A lot of the cellphones come with an option to restrict the calling to the numbers that are in the phonebook so that way she can't call or receive calls from anyone outside of that phonebook and then you can lock it so that she can't change that feature. I know that LG handsets have that, the Motorola's do not. Also look at blocking text and web access. Those features are normally the culprits for the high phone bills with the younger crowd.

Look for jobs babysitting, doing yard work, running errand for people, house cleaning, etc. Go door to door in your neighborhood and explain to people why you are looking for money-making opportunities. If they give you a chance to do something for them do a great job so they'll recommend you to others. If you are involved in a church or a social group (which includes adults) let people there know that you are looking for money-making opportunities and why. Also, you might be able to get a donation from a local club, especially if the trip is educational and you are willing to come in and talk to the club after your trip. Try Rotary Club, Lions Club, places like that. Most importantly, save all the money! It's easy, when someone hands you $20 to think it doesn't matter if you spend $5 and save $15, but it does matter. If you are going to reach your goal in 5 months then you need to be focused and save, save, save. Good luck.

Their are lots of you things to do, Car wash, donations, or fundraisers, If it's a nonprofit thing places like PAPA Ginos will do a fundraiser, All you have to do is tell people about it. IF you beat their last year sale you get 10% of the profit, It will not alone put you over the mark but it will help, When I managed papas, I gave 5-6 hundred dollars for fundraisers,

Since begging is not an option for someone with any self-respect, maybe you should decide on your priorities, either you want to earn the money to go on this trip or you want to spend your time playing sports? Tell your parents, coach and friends that you have to take a few months off in order to work odd jobs and earn some cash for what you really want out of life. Follow your passions!

Have you tried selling crack?

Just joking. Try to get some donation bottles in some local convenience stores or grocery stores. Make yourself sound poor, or maybe like you have some weird disease. People LOVE to help poor diseased kids.

Again, just joking about the poor diseased kid stuff, but the donation bottles are a good idea. Just write a few short paragraphs on why you want to go, and why you need the money. You might not make any money, or you might make a lot. I wish you the best of luck.

Odd jobs such as lawn mowing and dog walking for your neighbours. Could ask for sponsorship door-to-door if its educational. Car washing. Do a food stall or sausage sizzle at your school. Organize a mufti day at your school (if you normally wear uniform), with your principal. At 14 years old you can do baby sitting. Do a garage sale with all your old junk. Advertise in the newspaper for free.

If the org that runs the trip is a non-profit, then you can send letters to local businesses that explain your trip, why you think you can grow educationally (or make up stuff) and tell them that its tax detectable.
I raised $1000 in about 4 weeks doing this
