We're better off if we don't investigate too much, we might lose our faith or discover we have to work or sacrifice. We might look foolish. Ignorance is much preferable. The bible is full of myths anyway. I juss know I got a free ticket to heaven and according to John 3:16 that's all I need to do is believe. My pastor says I'm saved and I go to church almost every week. I'm a good Christian. I don't need anymore than faith. Grow up and realize no one really knows everything anyway. Just work hard and don't think too much. Love your family. Obey the law. Tolerate others who don't believe as you do. I think that's all of the ten commandments I can remember right now.

Oh yeah.. do you want to get saved?

There I did my bit for God and country. Now then who's Chicago playing next week?

Isn't Sunday School supposed to teach our children the word of God? What are you defining as "advanced class". My church is teaching my children the word of God each Sunday, and it is a different lesson. I am not sure what you mean by elementary. My Sunday School has the children broken up into different age and grades so each child is being taught as age appropriate.

P.S. I don't force my children to go, they look forward to going every Sunday.

Its a teaching element. you should never teach so far above the ablity of the students to learn. They will get confused and fusterated, and then no more for them, they leave. At the same time though, you don't want to just teach them stuff that they already know, cuz then they won't grow that way. Its a series of building blocks when it comes to learning. Thats why it takes 12 to 13 years to make it all the way through high school.

After it's learned the elementary things.

And it doesn't say, "get away from the elementary things...," It says not to labor on the DISCUSSION OF the elementary things, but build upon them to become perfect.

Heb 6:1 -- "Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us GO ON TO PERFECTION, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,..."

A babe cannot survive to the point of living off of solid food it it doesn't first become strong on milk!

In the same way, a Christian cannot become perfect in Christ without first becoming strong in the elementary things of Christ.
