I don't know why you would get a ticket if you were driving the speed limit. That doesn't make sense!

If you were not exceeding the speed limit you will be okay. If you were exceeding the limit and the camera flashed you, you will get a fine through the mail within a few days. If you do not, then there was probably no useable film in the apparatus.

Well if you seen it flash it must of been in the rear view mirror,Was there anyone around you, another car.............?
did it flash in front of you........?.......yellow ones.....?
Ive been flashed a few times and got a warning ticket,If you exceeded the limit its points im afraid.
Buy a sat navigation in future, you can download programmes that pick up speed cameras,Even the mobile ones.
Hope you dint get a ticket,if you buy a sat nav gimme a buzz,i got all the files to pick up speed cameras.
If you was doing the speed limit your safe,as i said Ive been flashed a few times.there is one in Manchester that flashes all drivers regardless of speed, now they have cameras to see if your cars taxed,Some flash you just to get your car on record if its not registerd at the DVLA.

If your offence is recorded you will receive a letter from the Police addressed to the owner of the vehicle at the address listed on DVLA records for that vehicle's registration number. The Police letter will tell you the offence you are alleged to have committed and ask you to name who was driving.

If you name yourself as "driver" you will then get a further letter, or if you name somebody else as driver when the light flashed he or she will get the letter. The letter, whoever it goes to, will invite "the driver" to admit the offence, in which case the driver can opt for a fixed penalty. So if you decide to admit it follow the instructions on the reverse of the ticket. Send your money together with the tear-off slip at the bottom of the ticket and your licence to the address shown within 28 days. You will be fined £60 and get 3 points on your licence which then gets sent back to you, and that is that..

BUT if you consider that you were NOT driving at the speed alleged you can take it to Court. If you do this and get found guilty the fine will be bigger . If you were nicked by somebody holding a hand held gun camera if you take it to court you have an extremely good chance of getting off, if you catagorically deny you were doing the speed alleged.. But you really need a good Solicitor if you do that! This is because hand held cameras have been proved again and again in numerous court cases to be unreliable, particularly if incompetently operated, as they very often are.

But if it was one of the 800 or so GATSO or Livelink fixed cameras it will record speed you were doing over the lines as well as the speed the camera flashed you doing, so it will be very difficult to dispute that. You are therefore then best off paying the fixed penalty, as you are unlikely to win if you take it to Court and it will cost you a lot more.

BUT having said all that, there is a distinct possibility that the evidence will be decided as "insufficient" when police look at the photo of your car to prosecute you. In that event you will hear nothing further and get away with it.

Also in some areas if you may be offered to go on a "speed awareness course" to avoid your licence being endorsed. If you attend the course which is quite interesting it will cost you slightly more than accepting the fixed penalty BUT you will not have your licence endorsed. But you have to turn up to the course on ther date you decide, which may mean having to take a day off from work.

Good luck whatever happens and welcome to "naughty boys club". .

If you were "at the limit" as you say, it won't be you the camera flashed at. They're set with a margin anyway. If it WAS you, you'll get a nasty surprise through your letterbox shortly. They have 14 days to post the thing, though it's usually quicker than that.

By the by, most if not all speed cameras have been converted to digital now, they were getting fed up with changing the film!

If you get caught and you get a ticket then you know! I would imagine the speed box might have thought you were speeding!

Not all gatso cameras are "live" so you may have got away with it. If you have been caught you will receive notification through the post within 14 days. If nothing arrives in the next 2 weeks you can stop sweating 'cos you're in the clear.

Good luck!
