You don't put your son's income on your tax form. Yes he is still your dependent.

If taxes were deducted from his paycheck, he needs to file his own return to get the refund.

Your son only needs to file a tax return if he had income taxes withheld from his wages and he wants a refund of those taxes. He has no tax liability as his income is less than $3,300.00 and does not need to file if no income taxes were withheld.

You may still claim him as a dependent if he otherwise meets all of the requirements. You do NOT claim his earned income on your return regardless of the situation.

If your son files a 1040 (EZ would work), he should not claim himself as an exemption. He should get any tax withheld refunded. As long as he does not claim himself, you may claim him as a dependent. His income should not be included on your return.

Yes, you can list him as a dependent. But he needs to complete his own EZ form-he'll get money back...it's not hard to do and he can begin to learn about doing his own taxes. Make sure he sits down with you. I believe he can file free online at www. IRS.gov

If your Son is filing his own tax return? Then you can not list him as a dependent. However, if he is not you can list him and you do not have to disclose the earnings he made to the I.R.S.
