I want to go hunting bears and i can use bait... What kind of bait should i use? Any suggestions

If it stinks it will be good for bear bait. I've used beaver cadavers, meat trimmings with used canola oil. I have used bacon and sardines with syrup. I've heard of one hunting lodge that uses broken cookies from one of the factories.. and that works well.

it has to be something that is not common to the area so that it will attract them to the site.

Rotting, rank smelling meat, or fish. Scout the area for scat(bear sign) first to be sure the bear are around. Place yourself away from the bait, in the direction of wind so you smell the bait, that way the bear does not smell you. Having a handy tree would help, depending on the type of bear.

Use whole ears of corn; stalks and all...no joke , my brother bear hunts in Virginia

you can use salt blocks left over meats but the meat is fair game for other predators or old fish will to but salt blocks atract deer to but the best of it is a combnatin of both
