This is a very tough one to call....They both dominated the 160lb. weight class, they both set records at 160, they both fought good competition(Hopkins beat Trinidad, Oscar, Tarver, the 1st fight against Taylor Hopkins got robbed & the 2nd Taylor fight it could of went either way, & lost to Roy Jones being inexperienced, and Hagler beat Hearns, Duran, & lost to Sugar Ray), Hagler held the middleweight record with 11successful title defenses & Hopkins hold the record now at 20 successful title defenses, Hopkins was the better all around boxer but Hagler had more power, Hopkins had better defense but Hagler had more killer instinct, and they both have a cast iron chin(neither one haven't been knocked out)..... If I had to pick one, this is tough, but I think I might row with Hopkins.

Hagler was the greatest 160 lb fighter ever. Withstood Hearn's murderous right cross and fought a close fight against Ray Leonard's supreme boxing ability.

Hagler was the most complete package we've ever seen in a fighter. Great righty or lefty, slugging or boxing. Great endurance and a tremendous chin. I'm a huge Ray Leonard fan, but you can give this to Marvin Hagler. No one ever clearly, cleanly, beat him. And he fought some real tough hombres. He'd have broken through B Hop's defense and would wear him down like he did everyone. Ray Leonard beat Hagler with a miracle rally in the last 2 rounds.

Hagler woulda got him in the end. I really loved Hopkins over the years, but Hagler is my all time favorite. Those heavy hands would have caught Hopkins and broke him down. Plus I dont think Hopkins ever fought anyone who would charge him the way Hagler would have. Hopkins defensive skill would keep the fight close for maybe 7 or 8 rounds, but I gotta believe in the late rounds Hagler's power woulda won out and he would win on a late round stoppage.

This is a good matchup! Hagler is my pick as the 2nd greatest middleweight ever (tie with Monzon) behind Sugar Ray Robinson. Hopkins is an excellent defensive fighter with an iron jaw. Hagler has the better punch and the stronger fighter in this one. In this fight I see it being a pretty even fight for the first 8 rounds with Hagler coming on strong and gutting out a tough decision victory. Good question sir!

This would be a tremendous fight! Hagler would press Bernard right from the start and try to make him open up and fight early. Bernard, who is usually a slow starter, may have to crank it up early just to keep Marvin at bay. Marvin's ability to switch hit may work in his favor and keep Bernard guessing. Both guys were rough on the inside and Bernard would try to take the fight there in the middle rounds. I see this as a back and forth battle between two highly skilled Middleweights and the fight being very close with Marvin taking over in the championship rounds like he did against Duran. I feel that Marvin would win a very close decision by just outworking Bernard. No KO here because of the granite chins of both fighters. Hagler by a close, but unanimous decision.

this IS A EASY FIGHT FOR Hagler HE would put to much pressure on Hopkins I see a KO in the15th round Hagler who has Bernard beat really that he should not have beaten Felix Trinidad was to small Traver is over rated he wins a fight and then he losses a fight the only person that has not beat him is an OLD ROY Jones Jr. Hagler would be to much for him in every department Remember Roy Jonnes beat Hopkins easly

This is a good match up and yes it would be hard to pick between them. Hagler has a lot of power shots land in this fight otherwise it is a draw. I have Hagler by Unanimous Decision. Great fight.

Depends. If Hopkins wants to slug then Hagler knocks him out, if Hopkins wants to box I think he might out point Hagler.
