I was recently united with 2 siblings that I had never met. It was a 34 year absence. But I'm sorry to say that one turned out to be a crack head junkie. What a real pile of garbage she is. But the other one...well, lets just say that it has been like we have been brothers forever. He's a wonderful person, with a fantastic wife and adorable kids. Meeting him, and now having another brother was well worth it. It even eclipses the disappointment we all felt at seeing the sister.

I wish you a lot of luck in your efforts, and hope that when you finally get back in touch with them, that they are good people.

I sort of appreciate your not writing a long involved story where you start when your brother was one year old, but with so little information it's hard to say what age a parent might "give up" on an attitude change. You don't mention, although your other posters assumed, that your mother stopped loving your brother. I doubt she did, mother's and father's love doesn't just stop. She may have lost patience with him after trying to convince him to have a better attitude, but that doesn't mean he's no longer loved. I'm a mom of an adult child. It can be very frustrating to try to get a kid from about 15 to say, 18 without wanting to pinch his/her head off. But most adults realize that it's a phase and will pass. Your brother's attitude issues will also pass, and if he's like most kids when he's an adult he'll appreciate that your mom was as patient as she's been. Then he'll get married and his wife will have a little boy that will assure that your brother pays for his raising! lol

first of all asking is there hope, sounds like you may give iup.of course there is hope.ask your dad about her tell him you would like to get to know her.if that doesnt work at least see if you can find her name.there are many ways to locate a person, so try till you do.my daughters have a brother that they see all the time, but they have a sister as well(once again another woman)and thier father hadnt seen her since she was 2!well many years later, my kids found her.they became really good friends, and they suprised dad with her.it was fantastic, so i hope you can find her.it will be an amzing experience for you.good luck

Interview your family or even ask your parents about seeing her. Someone in your family knows where she is and can answer all of your questions. I would talk to your parents about her first and move on to other family members. If that doesn't work, there is always Montel Williams or Maury. I wish I had some better advice, but it's hard to find someone, especially a sister. Good luck!

I found my dad when I was 33 years old. I had never met him and only partially knew his name. Begin posting on message boards for various websites. I posted on Ancestry.com. The more details you can give (ANYTHING), the better. There is also a site called peoplefinders.com. Good luck!!

Talk to your dad if you can.. If not trace back family as far back as you can. Someone in the family might know someone who knows of her.
