The WoO has a TV agreement with the Outdoor Channel.

The WoO, as you know, almost imploded a couple of years ago, and probably didn't have their act together when they were looking for a TV contract.

ESPN used to do cover "Thunder" which was mostly IRP and Ascot sprint / midget races. You're right, if done well, people would watch. Then again, we are talking about the WoO.....

Years ago I used to watch "Thursday Night Thunder" on ESPN. It was a live USAC sprint, midget or Silver Crown race on short tracks. It was popular and I always wondered why it was dropped. I remember watching a young, just graduated from high school, Jeff Gordon that most thought would make it big (at that time) in the Indy Car circuit when he moved up. He raced against the likes of Robbie Gordon and Tony Steward. I agree, someone should try to get sponsors to support such a program.

The speed channel- or more recently known as the barrett-jackson channel-seems to have it's head up it's *** since the NASCAR season ended.Hour after hour of the same shows makes me wonder what the hell is going on down there? Wake up you fools ,we're dying for any kind of race coverage we can get.I'd probably watch an I.R.L. race rightnow if for no other reason than to get a look at Danica in her racing uniform.mmmm.

It all comes down to the bottom line. NASCAR Nextel cup is so dominant (and boring) that no other form of racing can get a foothold in the US. It's like the hicks have taken over auto racing.
