Unfortunately, you can't make sure he is in it for the same reasons you are. But you have to take the risk, if you ever want to have a suitable partner. "nothing ventured, nothing gained". There is no guarantee you will not be hurt this time, but with practice and experience, you will learn that if it doesn't work out, it is not a reflection of your worth and attractiveness as a woman. Sorry I'm not giving you advise which is comforting, and a way not to be hurt, but that is the truth. My advise is; if yu are interested in the guy and find him attractive (not only physically), go for it. The worst thing that could happen is that you will not be in a relationship with him. since you are not in a relationship now, so you'll just end up where you were before, which is not that bad!

If he is open to you and let's you know what he is thinking he is probably in it for the right reasons. If it seems all he wants is physical and not emotional don't let him hurt you because he will sooner then you think.

well try to see if he wants to just be friends first and then you can see if he likes you for the right reasons. If you do go out with him and he becomes a total jerk just tell him that he is and break up with him......trust me i have plenty of experince
