not sure buy a pedometer, you can input all your personal details into them and it will give you an accurate reading at the end of the 10,000 steps

If those 10,000 steps are up a mountain with a 50kg bergen on, then it's quite a lot. Just normal walking though will use between 150 and 250 Calories per hour. 10,000 steps should take roughly 2 hours or so, so it'll up your energy requirement by about 500 Calories.

I bought a pedometer with a calorie counter on just for this purpose!!!

Just by walking at a normal speed to and from work and around the office, I hit my 10000 steps every day. It's between 400-500 calories for me.

I think it would depend on the length of your step, how fast you walk, your starting weight, and if you're carrying anything!

Depends on how fast you walk. You didn't say if you were speed walking or just lumbering along.

no way to tell....calories burned is a function of the distance gone....this is different from person to person as people take different length strides
