If those 10,000 steps are up a mountain with a 50kg bergen on, then it's quite a lot. Just normal walking though will use between 150 and 250 Calories per hour. 10,000 steps should take roughly 2 hours or so, so it'll up your energy requirement by about 500 Calories.
Cheers.

I bought a pedometer with a calorie counter on just for this purpose!!!
Just by walking at a normal speed to and from work and around the office, I hit my 10000 steps every day. It's between 400-500 calories for me.
I think it would depend on the length of your step, how fast you walk, your starting weight, and if you're carrying anything!

Depends on how fast you walk. You didn't say if you were speed walking or just lumbering along.
