Where is this copycat system at. This religion was spawned from well know truths in the historical texts throughout time concerning the prophesy of Jesus the real Christ. Was it that diffcult to have a copycat religion of that day, even today there are many copycat so called christian religions. Where is Mitras today? could it have died out because it was a false copycat? i think so.

If man would test the religions by the accuracy of the religion's prophets, then man could know God by the accuracy. God said that He does nothing unless He tells His prophets first.

I'll match the prophets of the Holy Bible against any prophets of any other religions.

I don't think there are any 'copycats' in religion. Truth is truth. All religions worship the same God; some religions just define a different set of divine attributes, or a different system of piety. Mithraism incorporated Christian concepts because they were true. Mithraism died out because Christianity was more appealing.

Mithras was not born of a virgin, he was not born in a cave (he was born out of solid rock), he had 2 disciples (not 12), Mithras did not die, was not buried, did not raise again, he did not have a last supper with his disciples, he did not ascend to heaven on a cloud (but in the chariot of the sun).

Mithras has nothing to do with Jesus's story at all, its just a religious figure with 1 thing in common and that was his sacrifice, the cult of mithras was popular among the roman soldiers.

To the third poster, the REAL story of Jesus has nothing to do with it, as the christians conquered new lands they had to blend christianity with paganism. Paganism had sol invictus (dec 25) and will not be found in the bible, also things like Celtic Crosses. The bible is not a literal thing, just like the book of revelation its all symbolic like the 40 days in the desert story or the shedding of blood by a god, its mixed in as the bible was blended into other branches.

To the first poster: Only 1 thing in common?

How about these:

# Virgin birth
# Twelve followers
# Killing and resurrection
# Miracles
# Birthdate on December 25
# Morality
# Mankind's savior
# Known as the Light of the world

Every pagan falsehood is still alive and well. That is why the Almighty tells believers to "come out of Babylon" today. You will not find the true faith taught in Scriptures taught in churchianity! The Almighty's name is YHVH! He sent His Son YAHOSHUA to be our Savior. He set apart the seventh day for rest and worship. See also Ex 23:13 where He told us not to use the names of Pagan "gods".
