Hiya, I'm in exactly the same boat as you here. I'm 14 and I know exactly how you feel and it just so happens that only on Monday I went to the doctors about my acne because I've had it for 3 years and its recently got worse.

First of all, don't buy anything over the counter, trust me on that one cos I have been buying every single brand for years and I must have spent a fortune but none of them work for acne I promise you, they are designed for the odd spot here and there.

My doctor has given me antibiotics because there is a side effect of them whichc hanges the way your new skin form and keeps it clean and she has also given me some pills which are actually for acne and she has given me a face wash. Your skin takes 28 days to reform so obviously your acne isn't going to go away quickly but you have to keep going with what your doctor gives you and after a few months they will work. It's frustrating isn't it? But just try and be patient and also eat healthy, avoid foods full of sugar and fat and drink plenty of water.

If you want the name of those pills which I have been prescribed by my doctor send me a message and I'll let you know.

I hope this helps you xx

I know, being a teen is rough sometimes! But you shouldn't give up! What I'm going to do it give you a bunch of recommendations. Now, these products and tips I'm going to give you are not pricey nor hard to keep up with so no worries. 1. Drink lots of water, and I mean lots! Water keeps skin hydrated and keep your skin clear. + also try drinking green tea ! 2. Exercise! Just trust me ;) 3. Don't eat or drink greasy/sugary things. At least keep it on the down low because those foods make your skin oily and break out easily and fast. Avoid pop, candy, fried foods and fast food. 5. Wash your face no more than 2 times a day. In the morning and before you go to bed. 6. Try wearing makeup no longer than 8 hours a day. 7. DON'T touch your face or pick on it. On your fingers and in your nails there are lots of germs and bacteria that may affect your face when touched. 8. When treating acne try more natural remedies at home. Don't go for the chemically filled products - they don't work well and dry out your skin. 9. Stress level must go down. Many people breakout because of stress. 10. Accept it and accept yourself! If you have a bit of acne, it wont be there forever and lots of people your age have it! You're not the only one ! Here are products that I use: I had some body breakouts and I used : BODY CLEAR® Body Wash Pink Grapefruit by Neutrogena and Neutrogena Body Clear Body Spray which worked really well. For my face I use : Clean and Clear advantage blackhead clearing astringent and tea tree skin clearing foaming cleanser which is from the Body Shop in Canada, so if you live in Canada your in luck if you want to get it. Otherwise, try getting something natural and/or oil-free. Exfoliating (you should do like 3 times a week) : Clean & Clear Deep Action Exfoliating Scrub Mask (twice a week) : Honey and Oat 3-in-1 scrub mask from The Body Shop . Find a mask that will work for you ! All masks work pretty well. I like the one I used because it cleanses, polishes and moisturizes. For healing acne scars : I use vitamin E oil for it fades scars and promotes faster healing. *Hope this works for you! If it doesn't work the way you wished, consider visiting a dermatologist ! GOOD LUCK!

Continue the minocycline. It takes awhile. Stop fatty foods, especially milk. Only wash twice a day with a plain soap like Ivory. Keep your fingers and your hair away from your face.
If these do not do the job, there are special blue light treatments for acne. There is also a drug called Acutane which you can ask your doctor about.

I know how you feel!!! I had acne pretty bad growing up myself and when I turned 19 it got even worse. I tried everything just like you have. I tried Proactiv (which worked a little bit for awhile) and Murad which also helped a little for awhile. When it just never got any better my mom took my to a dermatologist and she put me on birth control pills for awhile to see if the hormones would help, but no results. She finally put me on Accutane and that was THE BEST help EVER!!!!!! It took months for it to work, but once you complete the session that your doctor recommends, you won't have acne anymore! Occasionally I get a pimple, but that is really only around my period and it's because of hormones. If you do go on Accutane, make sure you stay on the birth control pills even after your session because it helps to keep you clear.

I bet that i no what the problem is. Do you use a conditioner on your hair after washing it. If you do not rince this out thoroughly, it will cause pimples, especially on the forehead. Another good thing to do after washing your face and rincing it off well, rub your skin with the peelings(wet side) of apple. Feels cool, cleans, moisturizes, and smells good, Plus you get to eat the apple.

Hi there. Accutane is prescribed for severe acne and nutritionally it is suggested to increase your levels of VITAMIN A. Studies have shown this to be effective in reducing the number and severity of blemishes. Carrots and green leafy vegetables are a great source. Its a cheap thing that you can only benefit from.

You should try proactiv. I personally don't have really bad acne (I just use a q-tip and alcohol when I have a breakout) but my friend does and there has been a big difference on her face. You can go to www.proactiv.com for more info and to order.

stick it out with the stuff your doctor prescribed for you; it usually takes 4-6 weeks for medications to start making a difference. i use burt's bees soap bark & chamomile cleanser; it's really gentle and doesn't irritate your skin like all of the chemicals in a lot of acne products do.

also, make sure to drink plenty of water, b/c it will help keep your skin moisturized and can help clear it up, too!

Nu Skin has a product that will help with your breakouts and will not dry your skin out at all. It is very effective on blackheads, red skin, and there aren’t any shiny effects.

It's awesome! I am on hormone pills, so my skin changes all the time and I still never have a problem.
